The Clerks “Antenne Offbeat”
Since the turn of the millenium, The Clerks stray through Jamaica’s biggest export: the wonderful world of offbeat. Funky horns, a violin and a groovy rythm section add up to gigs that can easily last over 2.5 hours. Sixties Ska, Klezmer, Rocksteady and Balkan Beats round off the programme in case you need to take a breath.
The production process from arrangement to the final mix, except for the song Radiolied, I did together with Gero Kuntermann, friendly audio engineer and leader of the band. Tracking and mixing took place in various recording studios in Collogne, Germany from January to March 2007. The record features former reggae artists Wasabi Suto as singers on 5 tracks, two live recordings done at the German TV show WDR Rockpalast and a video of the featured hit Radiolied.
