Taking place at the “Festhalle” in Frankfurt, Germany, the DB’s annual general meeting is an event that meets the highest standards at all technical levels. For legal reasons its sound reinforcement has to implement a particular speech intelligibility, apart from an overall percieved superb quality, of course. For this reason one elemental step in the systems design was a series of simulations done with the acoustic software EASE. The obtained data not only helps in optimizing the real world results, but as well forms part of a technical expertise covering the compliance with a specific parameter, the STI (speech transmission index). Working for the Ton-Art AG Düsseldorf, I was in charge of this project in 2007 and 2008.
