Acoustical concept and design of the new control room for DisQueSi Recording Studios.
The request was to create a state of the art control room with stereo and 7.1 surround sound monitoring. The design process began in coorperation with the architects for conception of the primary structure of the building, the most reliable way for assuring not only to create a room that sounds incredible but also comply with technical recomendations from the EBU (tech 3276).
Outstanding is the operational frequency curve of the control room, thanks to the installation of our Carvalho MM-12 main monitor system: Furthermore we can highlight the ultra low noise production environment, complying with the NR-10 noise rating curve.
The control room has got a volumen of 144 cubic metres. It’s situated in a rural vicinity and can count on daylight in abundance with beautiful views of the countryside.
The acoustic design is based on the «non environmental» concept which achieves a maximum in truth and neutrality in sound reproduction. At the core for monitoring are the 3 way main monitors MM-12 from Carvalho Audio. Their high fidelity and linearity combined with an outstanding sound pressure is obtained by flush mounting them in the massive front wall. The surround monitoring is realised with five Carvalho NF5 active loudspeakers and one Carvalho SS12 subwoofer.
